Community Service Scheme

Jain International University, Rwanda has instituted the Community Service Scheme (CSS) as one of its core policies. This service is instrumental in giving another dimension to higher education. It is meant to create awareness and orient the students towards becoming active participants in providing services to the community. The idea behind CSS is 'Not Me but We'. It would reinforce on the youth that problems can be solved through collaborative efforts and at the same time benefit the society at large.

Opportunities

"Students of Jain International University, Rwanda would be directed towards meaningful community services under the able guidance of staff members. It would provide students the opportunity to learn about the issues plaguing the society and help them in becoming a part of the solution. The CSS provides a platform to work with a number of individuals and environments offering a vital experience and exposure to those involved in the scheme. The major issues that would be tackled though CSS would include cleanliness, primary education, women empowerment, awareness on drug abuse and diseases and conflict resolution."

Action Plan

"The schemes under CSS includes standalone programs for the development of the community by Jain International University, Rwanda. Besides, the University is set to partner with NGOs and government and local bodies to address issues that are of concern to the local community in specific and society in general. Participation in all CSS activities will be through registration. The University is also in the process of launching ‘Adopt a Village’ program whereby we would take it upon ourselves to develop the village and grow with the local community."

Volunteering

"The staff and students of Jain International University, Rwanda would be encouraged to volunteer in schemes and services that are already been running and invest their time and energy in doing constructive work for building a positive and progressive society."
